How to Use the Olympus DS-9500 Dictation Device

- Turn the recorder on by moving the switch on the left from "up" to "down."
- To start dictating, press the button with a red dot. To pause your recording, you’ll need to press the red dot again.
- Pressing the “stop” button on the right-hand side of the recorder stops your recording and saves your file on the device.
- To go through your recordings, press the left and right arrows on the front of the recorder’s directional pad.
- Listen to your recording by pressing the “ok/menu” option on the front of your recorder in the middle of the directional pad.
- To erase a recording, it’s always a good idea to make sure that you’ve selected the recording you want to delete. Once you’re sure about the file you want to erase, select the orange “erase” button on the front of the recorder. On the directional pad, press the “+” button to highlight the word “erase.” Press the “ok/menu” button to confirm that this is the file you’d like to delete.
- Turn the recorder off by switching the “hold” button on the left-hand side of the recorder. The screen will flash “hold” before it goes blank.
Olympus DS-9500 Setup
Before you can start using your new Olympus recorder for professional dictation, you’ll need to set it up. Here is your guide to Olympus DS-9500 setup:
- To insert the battery, lightly press down on the battery cover release button in the middle of the recorder.
- Insert the battery, paying attention to its orientation.
- Slide the cover back on to protect the battery. Make sure it clicks into position.
- To charge the battery, you’ll need to connect the DS-9500 to the USB cable.
- To connect your Olympus DS-9500 with the docking station that was supplied to you, you’ll need to connect the smaller end of the USB cable to the back of the docking station. Then, connect the larger end of the cable to the computer.
- After that, connect the power supply to the small round socket.
